About Alfalah University

ALFALAH University (AU), which opened its doors in 2011 with an initial enrollment of 120 students, today enrolls more than 4000 full time students which is recognition of the efforts made by the university to build a standard infrastructure and to provide quality education opportunities to its students. It has proven itself as one of the prestigious University in Afghanistan in the field of Civil Engineering, Business management sciences, Journalism, sharia, law and political science. Alfalah University is currently operating in Jalalabad and planning to establish quality education provision network throughout the country.

It is well-equipped to provide standard business education and capacity building trainings to the students as well as public and private sectors’ workforce in a befitting manner. It has well-qualified, experienced and talented lecturers in various faculties for its regular classes with special training assignments. The faculty members are at least Master Degree holders from internationally recognized universities at least having a minimum of three years of teaching experience. Therefore, it has capability of conducting specialized trainings for local and foreign organizations in its main Campus and outside apart from the regular courses.

Job Description

Prepare handouts and teaching materials for students using power point slides and other multimedia sources.
Preparing lectures and presenting to students utilizing new technological sources multimedia etc.
Developing and implementing new methods of teaching to reflect changes in teaching methodology.
Designing, preparing and developing teaching materials;
Assessing students' coursework;
Setting and marking examinations papers;
Undertaking personal research projects and actively contributing to the institution's research.
Supervising students' research activities;
Completing continuous professional development (CPD) and participating in staff training activities;
Carrying out administrative tasks related to the department, such as student admissions, induction programs and involvement in committees and boards.
Representing the institution at professional conferences and seminars, and contributing to these as necessary.
Establishing collaborative links outside the university with industrial, commercial and public organizations if asked.
Contributing to the development, planning and implementation of a high quality curriculum.
 Drafting and giving periodic test and final test and work out a system where all those marks contribute to the final grading.
Devising, write and produce new materials including audio and visual resources.
 Working with the rest of the team to decide about the audio-visual material to be taught.
Making sure the attendance is taken every day and poor attendance is reported to the management.
 Working closely with the Center Manager and other instructors on the class timing and closely coordinate with them.
Submitting monthly student progress report to the Head of Department.
Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirement

BA/MA English/ M. Phil English will be preferred.
Minimum 2 to 3 years of teaching lectureship experience in a reputed educational organization. 

Language Skills:  Fluency in English and Pashto
Computer Skills: Familiarity with Computer programs office automation (MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint)

Personal Competencies:

 Must be hard worker, committed honest and regular
 Strong communication and teaching skills.
Punctual and disciplined
 Having good knowledge about subject area.
Ability to work in a dynamic and responsive environment.
Planning and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
